Tavey House is a purpose built, truly unique care home providing residential, dementia and respite care in Whetstone, Leicestershire.
Our mission statement is simple – to provide from our heart and soul the highest quality of care in order to enrich the lives of our residents.
We are at the forefront in promoting independent living in a caring family environment. We aim to provide excellent care whilst respecting the individuality, privacy, dignity and rights of our residents. Our objective is to enhance the quality of life by providing a safe, homely and comfortable environment with support and stimulation to maximise their physical, social and emotional capacity.
We are humbled and touched by the feedback from family members which range from “Tavey House looked after my mum for the last 16 months of her life with great care, compassion and professionalism, carers and managers showed a genuine fondness for her” whilst another stated “a great care home run by people who genuinely do care”. We encompass family values and have crucial support systems that enable free and open communication and empowerment to not only our residents and staff when making decisions but includes active involvement with family members. We believe these above measures allow careful and considerate management to avoid conflicts and prioritise the well-being of our residents.

We aim to provide an environment that feels comfortable, familiar and welcoming to our residents. It goes beyond aesthetics and personalisation, fostering a sense of community and promoting resident choice and autonomy. This approach aims to improve residents well-being by creating a space that feels less clinical and more akin to their own homes.
Caring
Caring within the care home sector goes beyond physical assistance. It encompasses treating residents with dignity and respect, fostering their independence and choice and creating a sense of belonging. It involves building trusting relationships, attending to emotional and social needs and ensuring residents feel valued and heard.
Safety
Safety is paramount for both residents and staff alike. It involves preventing physical harm through measures like up to date training on manual handling techniques and equipment maintenance. Additionally, it ensures residents are safeguarded from abuse and neglect, with clear reporting procedures, fully competent trained staff and regular reviews and inspections from regulatory bodies such as the CQC.
