As the seasons have begun to change, our residents have been making the most of the lovely autumn days. Despite the chill setting in, everyone has enjoyed spending time in the garden, soaking up the fresh air and autumn colours.
We were delighted to welcome Steve, who joined us for a wonderful afternoon of singing. His performance had everyone tapping their feet and singing along – it was such a joyful experience!
Our green-fingered ladies have been busy in the garden, planting new flowers and bringing colour to our outdoor space. They did such an amazing job that they were proudly presented with certificates of achievement and treated to some delicious chocolates as a thank-you for their hard work.
We also had lots of laughs during our Nerf gun challenge – the competitive spirit really came out, and it was great fun for everyone involved!
Inside the home, we’ve been busy decorating our lobby and hallways with beautiful autumn-themed crafts and pictures, created by our talented residents. The place looks warm, welcoming, and full of seasonal charm.
Our staff have also been busy enhancing their skills to provide the best care possible. They undertook face-to-face training in Basic Life Support, which was both fun and rewarding. Additionally, we had a visit from the Memory Hub Dementia Leicester, who spoke to all staff about the best ways to support residents living with dementia — an insightful and valuable session for our team.
To round off the month, our wonderful staff helped us celebrate Diwali with an afternoon of dancing, music, and tasty treats. Everyone looked fantastic, as the staff came dressed in beautiful traditional attire, adding even more colour and joy to the celebration. The event filled our home with smiles, laughter, and a lovely festive atmosphere.
We’ve had such a lovely couple of months, and we’re already getting excited for what’s ahead. Dare we say it – there are only 7 weeks until Christmas! The countdown to the festive season has officially begun!
